Myth #3: When You Have Prediabetes or Type 2 Diabetes, You Have to Be Perfect to Make Progress

When you’re living with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, it’s easy to feel like you have to get everything right to see results.

One “bad” meal, a skipped workout, a stressful day—suddenly, the guilt kicks in:

“I messed up. I’ll never get this right.”

But here’s the truth: perfection is not required for progress.

🌱 Progress Over Perfection

One of the biggest myths I see as a health coach is the idea that you have to do this perfectly. It’s simply not true. We are all perfectly imperfect; it's part of being human!

Real, sustainable change happens when you focus on what’s possible in your real life, not some impossible all-or-nothing plan. Small steps done consistently will always beat big, unrealistic changes you can’t stick with.

How Perfectionism Holds You Back

When you believe you need to be perfect, every slip-up feels like failure. That guilt and shame can stop you from trying again—or keep you stuck in an exhausting cycle of “on track, off track.”

But what if you gave yourself permission to be human? What if you focused instead on noticing what’s working—and building on that?

🧡 How I Help My Clients Let Go of “Perfect”

As a certified health coach, my role is to help you find a realistic, flexible way forward:

✔️ We break down goals into small, manageable steps.

✔️ We celebrate your progress—no matter how tiny.

✔️ We plan for real life—work, family, stress, travel, and yes, the occasional treat.

✔️ We focus on progress, not perfection.

🌿 Your Next Step

If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start feeling supported, I’d love to help.

Together, we can create a personalized plan that feels realistic, doable, and fits your life — no rigid rules, no judgment, just real progress you can sustain.

I only have a few spots open for private coaching this season.

If you’d like expert support, encouragement, and a plan that actually works for you, I invite you to apply today and take back control of your health—no perfection required.
